‣ Champions League
‣ Kick-off: 8:00pm (GMT)
Liverpool are back in action tonight after an extended mid-season break, with the first of two huge fixtures this week.
The Reds travel to Old Trafford at the weekend, however they first have the test of Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will hope his side can do the business and secure a positive result to take to Germany next month.
Bayern, who have won the competition five times - like Liverpool, have endured a more difficult than usual domestic campaign so far, but remain unbeaten in Europe.
It is hard to establish a clear favourite for the tie, with Niko Kovac's side full of high quality players and bundles of experience in big fixtures.
All the focus has been on the Reds' title charge so far this term, however it promises to be another big Champions League night under the lights at Anfield.
Team News
Liverpool's defensive exploits have been rightly lauded this season, however they will be without the imperious Virgil van Dijk at the back, who is suspended after his yellow card against Napoli.
With Dejan Lovren a major doubt and Joe Gomez still sidelined, Klopp is expected to draft in Brazilian midfielder Fabinho alongside Joel Matip at the heart of the defence.
Trent Alexander-Arnold, who returned against Bournemouth last time around, should make his first start in over a month, whilst Andy Robertson will complete the back-line ahead of goalkeeper Alisson.
Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson should start at the base of midfield alongside the in-form Gini Wijnaldum, with the only question remaining whether Naby Keita gets the nod over James Milner.
Keita, after a slow start, has made his mark in the Reds side in recent weeks and Klopp could favour the Guinean international due to his experience against Bayern whilst playing for former side Leipzig.
Roberto Firmino is expected to shrug off an illness that kept him out of training on Monday as he partners Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah in attack.
