Liverpool played well for the first half-hour but could not maintain that level, falling 3-0 to Nottingham Forest at .

First Half

Liverpool earned a corner in the sixth minute, and Ibrahima Konate nearly made contact on Salah's cross. Alexis MacAllister had a shot from the edge of the box in the 8th, and the Reds kept the pressure on with a trio of corners inside the first 10 minutes.

Milos Kerkez put a shot over the bar in the 15th. had his shot blocked out for a corner 10 minutes later, but it was cleared. nearly had a deflected goal near the half-hour mark. Despite the constant pressure from Liverpool, Nottingham Forest got on the board first when Murillo scored off a corner in the 33rd minute. They also appeared to score moments later, but it was wiped off due to a handball.

Mac Allister had his header saved in the 41st minute. Salah also forced a save just before first-half stoppage time as Liverpool trailed 1-0 at the break.

Second Half

Liverpool's hole got even deeper to start the second. Less than 40 seconds in, Nicolò Savona scored as the Reds trailed 2-0. The visitors also earned a corner in the 52nd minute, but it was cleared.

That second goal seemed to take the wind out of the Reds as they did not generate as many chances. They did keep the ball in the attacking third, but with no clear chances. Salah put a shot wide in the 62nd minute.

Forest earned a dangerous free kick in the 72nd minute, but it was blocked by the wall. They kept melting the clock with a corner in the 75th. When Liverpool did have the ball, Forest would drop an extra defender in the box to get in the way.

Morgan Gibbs White put the match out of reach with a goal in the 78th minute after Alisson made the initial save in the 78th minute. Liverpool could put together no meaningful chances the rest of the way, falling 3-0

What Does Slot Say?

Everybody knows that the match was a bad result for the Reds, and does not shy from that fact.

“How bad [the result is], that is difficult to measure, but it was very bad, of course,” Slot said. “Playing at , losing 3-0, no matter which team you face, is, of course, a very, very, very bad result. Unexpected if you look at the first half-hour of the game [because] in my opinion [it was] a good start from us. [I] haven't seen us creating so much in the first half-hour of a game, maybe throughout the whole season.”

A Look At The Stats

Slot is correct. For the first 30 minutes, Liverpool dominated the match, and the stats reflect it. They outshot Forest 21-15 and held nearly three-quarters of the possession. They also led in corner kicks 8-6. However, the only stat that matters is the final score, and there is no way to sugarcoat the fact that Liverpool lost 3-0.

A Troubling Trend

This is the third time this season Liverpool has lost 3-0. They drop to 11th on the table, and it's also the second straight season Forest has beaten Liverpool at Anfield.  Can the Reds reverse this trend? Time will tell.

LFC Globe Verdict

This was a surprising result. Since Forest was in the relegation zone, I thought it would be the Reds that would have won 3-0. This is not last year's team, though, so the team can't or the fans can't take any match for granted.

Man Of The Match

It's tough to choose, but Mac Allister had several nice chances in the first half.
