Mohamed Salah has been awarded the Professional Footballers Association Player Of The Year for the 2024-25 season. Salah beat out fellow Liverpool teammate Alexis Mac Allister and four other players to win the award for the third time in his career (2018 and 2022).
Salah was indeed a worthy recipient as he produced 34 goals and 23 assists in 52 matches across all competitions. In doing so, Salah won the Golden Boot and Playmaker prize as he was the goal-scorer and assist man in the Premier League, while also being the main catalyst in Liverpool lifting the EPL Trophy.
For his part, Salah was pleased to make history by being the first player to ever win the award three different times.
“It's something that's never happened in the Premier League, it's something I will never forget and I will never take it for granted. So, I'm so glad about that,” he said. “I found always a way to feel hungry and just need more. This season we have new players, so you also need to give them your experience and try to help them also to grow – that's part of being a footballer. It's always the hunger that really makes me want more.”
