Alberto Moreno set to end disappointing five-year spell on Merseyside this summer

is set to be one of a handful of likely departures this summer, with Lazio expected to sign the defender upon the expiration of his contract.

Moreno, who joined Liverpool in 2014, has largely been an outcast under manager Jurgen Klopp, who prefers ahead of the Spaniard.

The 26-year-old lost his place to Robertson at the start of last season, with the Scotland captain becoming a crucial part of Liverpool's all-round play.

Moreno has been limited to just five appearances this year as he looks nailed on to depart at the end of his original five-year contract.

He has been linked with a move to Roma, , Real Betis and former club Sevilla in recent months, but it appears Serie A side Lazio are now front-runners for his signature.

According to The Independent, Moreno is likely to make the move to Simone Inzaghi's side this summer, joining former Liverpool midfielder Lucas at the club.

Moreno was pictured with his former teammate in Rome, with some reports suggesting he may have already committed his future to the Italian side.

Moreno has made 141 appearances for Liverpool after from Sevilla for £12 million under .

Despite arriving with huge promise and being a vital part of the side at one point, his stock at the club eventually fell due to unpredictable defensive lapses.

Once he leaves, Klopp will no doubt be after a left-back to act as a back-up for Robertson.

's Ryan Sessegnon has been linked with a move, which would make sense due to his talent and versatility. However, it much more likely that the Reds boss looks to his youth.

Liverpool U23's left-back Adam Lewis is touted to be an option, having recently signed a new deal. It would be a bold move from Klopp to head in to the season depending on the 19-year-old, who is yet to make his senior debut.

However, he is expected to be given the opportunity to make his mark this coming pre-season, having trained with the first team on numerous occasions this season.
