Liverpool progressed to the fourth round of the League Cup after beating MK Dons 2-0 on Wednesday night.

A goal in either half from James Milner and Ki-Jana Hoever gave a heavily rotated Liverpool side a comfortable win over Paul Tisdale's side.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp made eleven changes to his side as the majority of his usual starting eleven were given a night off.

There were first-team debuts for the likes of Caoimhin Kelleher, Harvey Elliot and Rhian Brewster, whilst youngsters Ki-Jana Hoever and Curtis Jones also made a start.

The League One side had their moments, however, a youthful Liverpool side dealt with them fairly well and dominated the ball throughout the ninety minutes.

It was a successful night for Klopp, who guides his side to the League Cup fourth round for the first time in three years, having lost to Leicester and Chelsea at this stage of the competition for the last two years.

Liverpool will be back in action on Saturday night as they travel to Sheffield United in the Premier League - with the boss likely to make somewhere near 11 changes once again as his big guns return.
