‣ 1-0: Glenn Murray (27')
‣ 1-1: Sergio Aguero (28')
‣ 1-2: Aymeric Laporte (38')
‣ 1-3: Riyad Mahrez (63')
‣ 1-4: Ilkay Gundogan (72')
Manchester City travelled to the Amex knowing victory against Chris Hughton's side would guarantee them their second consecutive Premier League title.
Despite dominating much of proceedings, City fell behind in the 27th minute as Glenn Murray headed home from Pascal Gross's corner to shock Pep Guardiola's side.
However, the home side's lead didn't last long as Sergio Aguero finished brilliantly from David Silva's clever flick to make it 1-1, with just 83 seconds between the two goals.
It got even better for City ten minutes later as Riyad Mahrez's in-swinging corner was met by the run of Aymeric Laporte, who headed down past goalkeeper Mathew Ryan and give City a crucial 2-1 lead.
Brighton were forced into absorbing City's pressure for much of the first-half, however they showed good desire to try and close down space and force a counter-attack of their own.
It was all City in the second-half however and Mahrez turned provider to goalscorer as he danced outside the box and sent a right-footed shot into the top corner.
Guardiola's side continued to press on for a fourth as they looked to seal the title and they got just that with a little under 20 minutes to go as Ilkay Gundogan brilliantly converted a free-kick to seal a 4-1 win.
City end the season as champions with 98 points, pipping Liverpool to the title, who beat Wolves 2-0 at Anfield to finish the season just one point behind.
