Liverpool return to action on September 13th as they visit Turf Moor and Burnley. The Reds will have a new look as they signed Alexander Isak during the break and sent Harvey Elliott on to Aston Villa.

Catching Up

A lot has happened since the Reds last saw the pitch vs. Arsenal. They sit atop the Premier League standings. In fact, the Reds are the only team with a perfect record and all 9 points through the first three matches of the season. Isak signed for an English-record 125 million pounds, and Arne Slot has been named EPL manager of the month for August.

Slot offered his thoughts on all the recent happenings during a recent press conference.

“A lot of things happened, which is not always the situation because last season we hardly did anything during the whole window, but the thing that pleases me most, of course, is getting Alex – the deal for Alex – over the line,” Slot said. “ Richard [Hughes], ownership, everyone involved worked so hard to get that deal done and it's very good for the club, for our fans, for the players, for me, that all the work they've put in resulted in Alex for us.

"Harvey is in a very good place, going to a very nice club with . I think it's in the interest of everyone when he didn't get the playing time he probably deserved for the quality player he is. He conducted himself always so well. It wasn't only when he said that this was his club that he wanted to say this to the fans. He acted [the same] inside [the club] - with him not playing so much - he was always doing what was in the best interest in the club. He deserves a big compliment for that.”

Injury Update

Slot also said that Curtis Jones will miss the match with an undisclosed injury he suffered vs. , but everyone else is fully fit.

Facts & Figures

Burnley's this season came against Sunderland 3-0. Jaidon Anthony is the only player on the squad to have multiple goals so far, with two. Liverpool have won six straight matches at Turf Moor and 8 out of the last 9. Cody Gakpo has either scored or provided an assist in 8 of his last 9 EPL matches. The Reds have lost only twice in their last 28 matches coming off an break.

LFC Globe Verdict

The biggest question on everybody's mind is, “Will Isak play?” It almost seems as if the media is overlooking Burnley as an opponent because the Reds are such a heavy favourite, but the players need to be ready. It is always tough to play on the road, and they can't afford a slow start coming off the break and let Burnley build momentum. Even so, I think the Reds win 3-1.

Where To Watch

Kickoff is set for 14:00 BST from Turf Moor and can be seen on Sky Sports. In the United States, the match will start at 9 a.m. EST and air on the USA Network.
