Jurgen Klopp says Liverpool can sign top class players after European run

Jurgen Klopp has suggested the Reds will be able to convince “specific players” to join the club this summer, following their progression to the final.

The Reds beat Roma 7-6 on aggregate to book their place in the final against on May 26, whilst they are potentially three points from securing a top-four finish in the .

Should the Reds beat on Sunday, they would guarantee a place in next season's Champions League, however a victory against Real in Kiev would also see them automatically qualify.

Speaking at his pre-Chelsea press conference since on Friday, the boss addressed questions on the calibre of Liverpool's pulling power to secure Europe's top talents.

“With the players we talked to [already], nobody has said ‘if you don't do it in end it's all for nothing',” he said.

“That's all clear, we battle and challenge with the best football clubs in the world.

“And whatever you can do to bring yourself in the better position to get these players you should do it.

“In this moment we are quite attractive. We pay good wages, we pay absolutely OK transfer fees, so we can go for a few really good players.

“But other teams are interested in them as well. That's always how it is.

“There are a few ‘soft' factors, and a few ‘harder' factors, which help the boys to make the right decision—and the right decision would be to join us!

“It's clear, if you are qualified for the Champions League it's easier to convince specific players.”

The Reds are already set to welcome Naby Keita from , after concluding a deal last summer to bring the Guinean to at the start of the 2018-19 season.

The Reds could earn up to £69 million if they turn out victors against Real Madrid, and are yet to spend the extraordinary £142 million fee they received from from the sale of in January.

A whole host of names have already been linked to the Anfield club, with Norwich's James Maddison, midfielder Jorginho and more recently Dortmund youngster Christian Pulisic being reported targets for Jurgen Klopp.

Roma's Alisson and 's Jan Oblak have also been linked with the goalkeeper's role at Liverpool, however with gaining momentum as the no. 1, the Liverpool boss may prioritise other positions.

Emre Can is one player who is set to leave Liverpool at the conclusion of his contract and with further investment required, Klopp's suggestion that the club are already in talks with potential signings is encouraging.
