Liverpool vs Leeds United highlights: Watch all the goals and highlights as the Reds beat Leeds 6-0 at Anfield on Wednesday night.
Liverpool went ahead inside fifteen minutes as Mohamed Salah sent Illan Meslier the wrong way from the spot after the referee had awarded the Reds a penalty for a handball against Stuart Dallas following Andy Robertson's cross.
The Reds made it 2-0 on the half-hour mark as Joel Matip glided forward from defence and found Salah, who found the Cameroonian with an inch-perfect pass before he produced an excellent finish to score his first goal this season.
It didn't take long for the Reds to make it three as the referee awarded a second penalty for a foul on Sadio Mane, with Salah again making no mistake from the spot to give the Reds a 3-0 lead with less than 35 minutes played.
With the Carabao Cup final looming on Sunday, the Reds stepped off the pedal somewhat as Leeds kept the deficit to three in the second half and enjoyed more possession than they had in the first 45 minutes.
But Mane made it 4-0 with a little over ten minutes left on the clock following good work from Salah and substitute Jordan Henderson, with the latter setting up the unmarked Reds forward for a cool finish at the far post.
Substitute Divock Origi saw his effort blocked as he went through on goal but the ball fell to Mane inside the box before the Senegal international finished with ease. Virgil van Dijk then added another late on from Andy Robertson's corner as it finished 6-0 to the Reds.
The result sees Liverpool close the gap to league-leaders Manchester City to just three points after 26 games played, with Jurgen Klopp's side now boasting a superior goal difference. All thoughts now turn to Sunday's Carabao Cup final against Chelsea at Wembley...
