The Reds Can Advance If…
Liverpool can advance to the knockout stages of the competition with a win vs. LASK and a Toulouse loss or draw vs Union SG. Group winners advance straight to the knockout rounds while runners-up will have a play-in match at a later date If the Union SG Toulouse match ends in a draw, Liverpool is assured of at least a second place finish in the group.
A Look At LASK
LASK are a solid team. They sit third in the top division of Austrian football with 28 points with 8 wins and 3 losses. They are 4-1 in their last 5 matches across all competitions. The leading scorer is forward Robert Zulji who has 7 goals in 14 matches played this season. By comparison, Mohamed Salah has 12 goals for Liverpool.
Injury Update
Liverpool are a bit banged up heading into the match with a couple of key players picking up injuries in the 1-1 draw vs. Machester City. Goalie Alisson Becker has been ruled out for the match and likely the Premier League tilt on December 3rd vs. Fulham. Diogo Jota also picked up an unspecified injury of a more serious nature and is set to miss several matches.
LFC Globe Verdict
Liverpool got a big road draw vs Manchester City last time out and their place in the knockout rounds of the Europa League looks all but assured. Even so, the Reds can't afford to look past LASK. As mentioned above they are in good form, so Liverpool need to take the drama out of this one early with a quick goal. The injury to Diogo Jota hurts, but Liverpool still have plenty of firepower to win 3-1.
