Liverpool will return to Anfield as they take on Brentford today,  Sunday (November 12), aiming for their first in three games.

It's been a disappointing last couple of games for Liverpool who've not only failed to win against Luton Town and Toulouse in all competitions, but their performances have been the most worrying of all.

The grit and aggression in Liverpool's style that became synonymous with Jürgen Klopp has seemed to vanish as they were physically dominated by the inferior opposition they came up against.

The 3-2 loss against Toulouse on Thursday in the Europa League was the breaking point for Klopp who said in his post-match press conference that if his players do not win their defensive challenges, there's no chance to claim a result in football.

Klopp alongside millions of Liverpool fans will hope to see a different attitude when they take on Brentford on Sunday who are in their best form of the season.

The Bees are currently riding a three-match winning streak with two of those wins coming against their London rivals Chelsea and West Ham United. Thomas Frank's men had won just one game in their first eight fixtures as they notably struggled without star striker Ivan Toney who is banned until January due to gambling offences.

However, they've struck a rich vein of form ahead of their annual trip to Anfield as they'll surely feel confident of claiming points at the famous stadium.

Since entering the Premier League in 2021, they've faced Liverpool four times, losing twice, drawing once and winning once with that victory coming in January 2023 in a 3-1 win at Gtech Community Stadium.

While Liverpool have only lost once to the West London club since they were promoted, they've proved to be a tough adversary for Jürgen Klopp's side who may face the best Brentford under the Danish boss this weekend.

The lack of determination in Liverpool's midweek loss was unacceptable and there's no doubt Klopp has had words with his players that the manner of their defeat against the Ligue 1 side should never happen again.

LFC Globe Verdict 

Without Brentford in good form, they could claim a result at Anfield but with Liverpool aiming to make amends for their defeat against Toulouse, they'll certainly be pumped up by the home crowd as I believe they'll cruise to a 3-0 victory with goals from Mohamed Salah and Diogo Jota.
