In his post-match press conference, Jürgen Klopp opened up about Liverpool's dominant 5-1 win against Toulouse where they made it three wins out of three in the competition.
It was an entertaining performance from Liverpool who put on a show for the fans with five goals and even could have had more. The Liverpool boss - who made eight changes from the 2-0 win against Everton - spoke to TNT Sports after the game as he displayed his happiness at Liverpool's third win out of three in the Europa League.
“Very happy. How difficult the game could have been but the majority of the time we were in control. The right players scored, [it was a] perfect night,” he said.
Opportunities To The Young Players
The Europa League for Liverpool this season has allowed Klopp to offer opportunities to the young players from the academy who may not have had the chance if the club were competing in the Champions League this season.
Luke Chambers, 19, made his full debut in the 5-1 win while 18-year-old Calum Scanlon made his first-team debut after coming on during the club. Klopp said how important it is for the youngsters to have the opportunity of playing for the club and knowing there is a route to the first team for them.
“The young boys need to get that feeling,” he stated. “In good moments you can give those boys the opportunity and they took it. Ben Doak would have had minutes for sure and Bobby Clark who is back soon hopefully.”
Liverpool's academy of late has produced some real gems who have the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Curtis Jones to look up to as the two senior members of the squad who've come through the academy.
The Quality of Ryan Gravenberch
The Dutchman was scintillating in the win and continues to dazzle fans and showcase his ever-growing importance to this Liverpool side.
On top of his absurd quality in the middle of the park, he's also contributing in the box as he's now scored two goals in three games in the Europa League.
Klopp was asked about the 21-year-old after the game and the Liverpool boss couldn't stop offering up compliments as he said: “Really good player, I'm so happy for him.”
“His first touch is incredible, [he's] so good in tight spaces. He still has space for improvement. He's very young and [there is] so much more to come.”
The games are coming thick and fast for Liverpool who are next in action on Sunday, October 29, as they host Nottingham Forest in the Premier League at 14:00 PM (UK time).
