LFC Globe -

Liverpool and Leicester City meet at Anfield for a Boxing Day clash. The Reds should be festive as they sit at the top of the table, four points ahead of Chelsea. Mohamed Salah is also leading the Premier League's Golden Boot Race and Liverpool are still alive in a quest to lift all four trophies, so there is plenty to celebrate on this Christmas Season.

A Look At Leicester

The Foxes have struggled as we near the midpoint of the EPL. They sit two points above the relegation zone with 14 and just 3 wins on the season. Star striker Jamie Vardy leads the team with 6 goals and 3 assists, but he could miss the game due to an injury. They will also have the services of backup goalkeeper Danny Ward making the challenge even greater for the Foxes.

Have A (Boxing) Day

This will mark the 93rd time the Reds have played on December 26th. They have amassed a record of 45 wins 24 draws and 23 losses. The Reds never lost on Boxing Day under Jürgen Klopp with a perfect 6-0 record. Now it's time for Arne Slot to carry on that same tradition.

A Pre-Christmas Chat With Gakpo

Cody Gakpo arrived at nearly two years ago in January of . He met with the media and reflected on his time with the club, playing on Boxing Day and several other topics.

“I enjoy every minute that I am here,” he said. “I think now we are in a good place as a team and I'm very happy that I can contribute as well. We spoke about it the other day, some players thought I was here already way longer. But it has only been two years so hopefully a lot more years to come.”

As for playing on Boxing Day, Gakpo is eager to get on the pitch.

“I think nobody can wait for it,” he said. “We are eager to go out there again and to the game, that's our goal. What you said is true, there's no extra motivation needed. We know what our goals are this season in every competition and that means we need to win the games.”

LFC Globe Verdict

This is the season that keeps on giving for Liverpool as the wins keep coming. Adding to that total vs. the Foxes at Anfield should not be an issue. But Liverpool will still have to play well to avoid getting a lump of coal in their stocking.
