Stefan Bajcetic inks new deal with Reds

Jacob -

Liverpool's Stefan Bajcetic signed a new long-term contract with the Reds that will keep the 18-year-old Spaniard at Anfield until 2027. Monetary details of the new contract have yet to be released, but it is safe to say that Bajcetic is thrilled will the deal.

“Obviously I'm so, so happy, so excited to keep playing for this club and hopefully I can play more years together,” the midfielder told LiverpoolFootballClub.com. “Me and my family are very proud to sign a new contract with this club. It feels amazing. It's something I've been dreaming of in these two years I've been here and something that I've been working hard [for] as well.”

Bajcetic originally signed with the Liverpool youth program in 2020, earning playing time with both the Reds' U-18 and U-21 clubs. He joined the Senior Team for Liverpool's pre-season camps and fixtures ahead of the -23 season. Bajcetic made his Senior Team Debut at the age of 17 in a 9-0 win vs Bournemouth and drew his first starting assignment in a November 2022 Carabao Cup fixture vs Derby County.

Bajcetic followed by finding the back of the net for the first time in a Boxing Day win at Aston Villa. In all, Bajectic has made 10 appearances with the Senior Team.

“It's crazy,” he said. “A year ago, I was playing U-18's football and now I've started some games, made my debut and even scored a goal – that was something I never expected to happen this year. It's amazing to see how fast it went. But I keep working hard and hopefully [there are] more things to come.”

If the past is any indication, the future is indeed bright for Bajcetic and Reds' supporters will be more than happy to bask in his glow.
