Liverpool finally started a match with the intent to control a game that we've been calling for. Darwin Núñez tested Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris early on, and the Reds' pressure in the opening minutes of the match was relentless.

That good play was rewarded with a goal in the 11th minute. struck the ball from just about on the penalty spot into the back of the net. Andy Robertson and teamed up to feed the ball to Salah, who cooly turned and snapped the ball

The Mo Salah show continued in the 40th minute. The Egyptian King struck again, taking advantage of an awful turnover by Tottenham's Eric Dier. Dier missed badly on an attempt to head the ball back to Lloris. Salah swept by the hapless defender and chipped the ball over the French goalkeeper.

The Reds' first-half display was certainly one of the best, if not the best first half of the season. They controlled the ball for the majority of the half. Liverpool certainly deserved both goals even if the second one was assisted by Eric Dier. They worked hard for 45 minutes and were justly rewarded.

Second Half

Tottenham have a reputation as being a team that doesn't really do anything until the second half. Today that reputation turned out to be true. Tottenham came out storming after the halftime break. They bossed the possession for the majority of the second half. It was a classic game of two halves with Liverpool pushing the play in the first and Tottenham responding in the second.

In the 68th minute, Antonio Conte made 2 substitutions that had an immediate impact on the game. Dejan Kulusevski and Matt Doherty would get the ball to Harry Kane almost immediately after coming on the pitch. Kane would score a precision strike in the 70th minute to make the score 2-1.

Liverpool played like they were hanging on for dear life against Spurs in the second half. That style of play was justified as Tottenham were determined to the game all the way up until the final whistle. Big credit to the Liverpool defence as it held for the most part. Even though they did concede a goal, their overall play was outstanding this game.

LFC Globe Verdict

Finally, a win in the Premier League away from home. Now, it is important for the Reds to keep the momentum going into the break. This is a big win against a really good team away from Anfield.

Today's match ends a pretty terrible run of form in the EPL. Hopefully, they can put all the bad performances in the rearview mirror and focus on what it ahead. The team must get some key players back from injury and make a push into the 2nd half of the season.
