The 21-year-old signed for the Merseyside club on the final day of the transfer window for a whopping fee of £34million.
The former Bayern Munich midfielder was once one of the most highly-rated talents in Europe due to his exploits at Ajax but a difficult debut season with the Bavarian side left the Dutchman in a tricky situation.
He let his frustration be known about his lack of game-time for the Bundesliga champions which was indeed not looked at positively by the club's higher-ups.
Liverpool then swooped in with a bid that was too attractive for Bayern to turn down which secured his move to Anfield.
The immense talent of Gravenberch is known to everyone who's watched him in action, the only question that remains is which position he'll flourish in at Liverpool.
He'll Be The Starting Defensive Midfielder
Despite his remarkable talent, many questioned the signing of Gravenberch considering the club hadn't brought in an elite defensive midfield specialist, only bringing in 30-year-old Wataru Endō from Stuttgart.
The Dutchman was seen as a left-sided central midfielder, however, it looks to be that Jürgen Klopp and his coaching staff see Gravenberch as a player who can not only play as a number eight but has the attributes needed to play as a number six in the Liverpool system.
It makes more sense considering Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister have cemented their status as the two number eight's in Liverpool's team.
He's A Rotational Player For The Number Eight Position
Gravenberch's suitability for the number six role is certainly not like Fabinho's which suggests he'll instead be used as a rotational player for the central midfield roles.
Liverpool lost the likes of Jordan Henderson, James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Naby Keïta this summer so signing cover in their position was of paramount importance.
Liverpool will also be playing in four competitions this season so plenty of game time will be available for all positions with the Dutchman expected to be ever-present in the team's Europa League starting line-ups.
Regardless of his position, the addition of Gravenberch to this Liverpool side was a shrewd signing and the opportunity to play under the tutelage of Klopp is one the 21-year-old will be glad he took.
With the Premier League set to return, where do you think the midfielder will first play?
