Liverpool are unexpected to make any new signings during the January transfer window, however they are set for the first of a few likely departures.
The Reds have enjoyed a successful first half of the campaign, sitting at the top of the Premier League and advancing to the knockout stages of the Champions League.
Whilst Jurgen Klopp has not ruled out incomings, it is highly unlikely that the Reds will look to bring in any new players during January.
There are some departures expected, however, with striker Dominic Solanke the first in line to make a move from Anfield.
With Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Daniel Sturridge all playing a part as Jurgen Klopp's central striker, it was between Solanke and Divock Origi as to who goes out on loan.
It appears that the Reds have made the decision, with the England U21 international expected to make a temporary move to Crystal Palace in the first few days of the window.
According to the Mail Online, Solanke has undergone a medical at the south London club, with Palace manager Roy Hodgson ready to give the striker an extended opportunity in the Premier League.
The 21-year-old joined Liverpool from Chelsea in 2017 and despite showing signs of promise, has failed to make a mark on the first team during his short time at the club.
The youngster made 28 appearances for the Reds during his maiden season, scoring just once, whilst he has not made a single appearance this season.
Solanke had received interest from various Premier League sides, including the likes of Brighton, Huddersfield Town and Bournemouth, however former Reds boss Hodgson has "managed to convince" the striker to move to London.
Palace are currently just four points above the relegation zone and in desperate need of a striker, with summer signing Alexander Sorloth failing to notch in his first 12 league appearances at the club.
Christian Benteke and Connor Wickham have been sidelined with injury, whilst Jordan Ayew has struggled for form.
Solanke should therefore be given ample opportunity to be a regular feature, which is arguably what he needs at this stage of his development.
He is regarded as one of England's brightest talents, having led England U20s to a World Cup win in 2017 and earning a senior cap back in 2017.
Solanke is unlikely to be the only departure for the Reds during January, with Nathaniel Clyne also expected to make a move.
The 27-year-old has featured more regularly in recent weeks due to injuries to Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip, however he could still be on course to make a move elsewhere.
Cardiff City have been most linked with the Clyne, with manager Neil Warnock confirming his interest in signing the right-back.
"We spoke about Clyne months ago, but then he got back into the Liverpool team against Manchester United, then they had a few injuries, so things change," he said.
"But honestly, we've got nothing set for any position at the moment, I'm hoping that changes this week."
There could also be a move on the cards for Lazar Markovic, who has been out of favour at Liverpool ever since Jurgen Klopp's arrival in 2015.
The 24-year-old joined the Reds from Benfica under previous manager Brendan Rodgers but has failed to make an impression at Anfield.
Markovic has had loan spells at Fenerbahce, Sporting, Hull City and Anderlecht in the last three years and despite interest for a permanent deal, he has remained on Merseyside.
The Serbian winger, whose contract expires in the summer, endured a spell on the sidelines earlier this season but has been training regularly with the U23s ahead of a January move.
