He was one of three changes for the Reds, with Xherdan Shaqiri and Gini Wijnaldum both starting after being on the substitutes bench against Wolves.
Liverpool looked comfortable from the start against Rafa Benitez's side and got their reward after just 10 minutes.
Andy Robertson sent in a cross after a short corner, which landed in the path of Dejan Lovren, who made no mistake with a smashing volley in to the top corner.
The Reds had the clear upper hand for most of the half and didn't need to get out of third gear as they went in to the break 1-0 up.
Klopp's side then doubled their advantage minutes after the interval when Paul Dummett tripped Mohamed Salah in the box, with the Egyptian converting the ensuing spot kick.
Shaqiri then added a third with 10 minutes to go, as he swept in Alexander-Arnold's low ball across the box after good work from the youngster.
Liverpool then added the gloss to the scoreline as substitute Fabinho headed home his first Reds goal from a Salah corner.
With Manchester City suffering a 2-1 defeat to Leicester City, they slipped down to third, with the Reds now holding a seven point lead over Pep Guardiola's side.
Tottenham now sit in second, six points behind the Reds, who find themselves in a fantastic position after the first half of the season.
Next up for the Reds is Arsenal, before the huge fixture against Man City in the new year.
