Liverpool travel to the south coast as they look to build momentum ahead of the final stretch of the season, having beaten Spurs in dramatic late fashion on Sunday.
The onus is on Jurgen Klopp's side to climb back above Manchester City in the Premier League table after City continued their winning run in midweek to go top.
The Reds overcame Southampton 3-0 at Anfield earlier in the season, however the Saints are a completely different proposition now having appointed Ralph Hasenhuttl.

The hosts are just five points above the relegation zone, however Klopp insisted their league position doesn't reflect their true quality.
Southampton will be full of confidence having defeated Tottenham and Brighton in their last two fixtures and a win for them would elevate them to 14th in the table.
However, Klopp's side have responded when needed so often this campaign and the hope will be they can earn another valuable three points in the race for the Premier League title.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Rhian Brewster have made steps in their recovery but neither are ready yet for competitive minutes.
Joe Gomez has been in training for over a week and he is reportedly part of the travelling squad, however he remains a doubt for the final squad.
The Reds boss doesn't have any other injury worries, with Virgil van Dijk having shrugged off a knock to his ankle on Sunday.
It's likely to be the same back-line that faced Spurs, with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip, Van Dijk and Andy Robertson looking to earn the Reds' 18th clean-sheet in the league this season.
Fabinho is likely to return to the starting eleven after coming on as a second-half substitute on Sunday, whilst Gini Wijnaldum is a regular in the midfield.
Klopp could give James Milner another start, but with Porto in the Champions League on Tuesday, he may wish to give the vice-captain a rest tonight, instead of the prospect of three games in ten days.
The boss has plenty of alternative options, with Jordan Henderson, Adam Lallana, Naby Keita and Xherdan Shaqiri all capable of offering different solutions in the middle of the par.
