Liverpool vs Leicester City - Premier League - Confirmed Lineups

Jürgen Klopp has made his decision on who will start tonight’s match at Anfield. Kick-off against Leicester City is at 20:00 GMT and tonight’s line-up will try to secure 3 points against the Foxes.

There is only one change to the line-up from the Boxing Day win at Aston Villa. Harvey Elliott takes Fabinho’s place in the midfield. It appears as Fabinho isn’t available from the bench either.  With 3 games in one week, Klopp has to consider squad rotation when he makes his selections.

Alexander Oxlade-Chamberlain retains his place in the team. Ibrahima Konate is available from the bench, which Klopp said was possible in the pregame press conference at the AXA Training Centre yesterday.

New signing Cody Gakpo isn't eligible to join the team until 2023. Klopp said yesterday that while it is possible that Gakpo could join the team for their January 2, 2023 match against Brentford, it's more likely he'll be available for the January 7 FA Cup match against Wolves.

LFC Globe Verdict

Klopp has chosen the best available side. With Roberto Firmino, Diogo Jota, and Luis Diaz all on the injured list, his options on the attack are limited. Tonight would be a good time for Darwin Núñez to reward his manager’s faith by getting a goal or two.

I see that happening. I think the big Uruguayan striker will score tonight. I also think the backline will contribute another goal like they did against Aston Villa. I think the Reds outfox Leicester City by a score of 2-0.
