The travelling Kop then had plenty to cheer when Liverpool's advantage doubled half way through the second half.

Salah turned from scorer to provider as he dinked a ball in to the box that was met by Virgil van Dijk to turn home.

Liverpool move to 48 points, at the top of the Premier League, with this being their sixth consecutive victory in December.
