Who starts in the three-man attack for Liverpool?

Competition in football is important as it breeds hunger, competitiveness, and a will to .

Liverpool certainly have that in abundance in their forward options.

The likes of , , , , , and (till the end of the season) are the impressive list of attackers the club has at their disposal.

However, with preferring a 4-3-3 formation, just three of the aforementioned six players will slot into the starting line-up.

In this article, I will list who I think should start in Liverpool's front three.

I would hope that the inclusion of one of the club's greatest-ever players is a mere formality.

The Egyptian King remains Liverpool's talisman and leads the club in goals this season (20 goals in all competitions).

It also helps his case that he is the only recognized senior right winger in the squad with the club quite unbalanced with Díaz, Núñez, Gakpo, and Jota all having experience coming off the left.

Salah will most likely remain of incredible importance for the club for years to come, considering the new contract he signed last summer.

Luis Díaz

The Colombian has been a massive miss for the Reds since he's been out with an injury.

The energy and work rate that Díaz possesses is matched by nobody and his recent return to training is a massive boost for the club as they enter the final few months of the season.

Díaz was bought as the long-term replacement for Sadio Mane and while he's yet to replicate the number of goals the Senegalese winger was able to net for the club, the trickery and dribbling ability are there for all Liverpool fans to witness.

The biggest compliment I can pay to Liverpool's energizer bunny is that when he's fit to return, I believe he'll be slotted back into the starting line-up, and considering the attacking talent the club possesses, that just goes to show how important he's become since for the club just over a year ago.

Darwin Núñez

Similar to Díaz, Darwin Núñez is another player that's made a huge impact in a short time.

After getting off to a slow start, despite a goal in his debut against , the Uruguayan's influence on the team has been telling as he's become a more and more important aspect of how Liverpool performs.

With 16 goals and assists in all competitions this season, the striker has quietly put together a solid debut season in at large parts of the season, a disjointed Liverpool side.

There's a common theme with South Americans and their knack for hard work and their never say die attitude – a trait Núñez and Díaz possess.

A front-three of Salah, Díaz, and Núñez has everything an attack needs – goalscoring, energy, creativity, and movement – Liverpool have been successful in restoring the dangerousness of their attack and it has the possibility of becoming extremely potent in years to come.
