Liverpool have been in fine form of late, with five wins out of their last five games in the Premier League.
Their latest came against arch rivals Manchester United on Sunday, with a 3-1 win seeing them continue at the top of the table, ahead of fellow title contenders Manchester City.
With Pep Guardiola's side not in action till Saturday, the Reds have the chance to put the pressure on their counterparts with victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Friday evening.

Nuno Espírito Santo's newly promoted side have enjoyed a successful first half to their season, sitting in seventh place, just a point behind Man United.
Whilst, on paper, Liverpool look the clear-favourites, Wolves will provide a stern test to their title credentials. Santo's side have beaten Chelsea whilst holding Man City, Man United and Arsenal to a draw, so far this season.
A win would be Liverpool's fourth in a row on the road, for the first time in over a year, and the Reds must be near their best to navigate a tricky fixture and reach that milestone.

Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Trent Alexander-Arnold are all ruled out of the fixture, although the latter could return soon.
James Milner is expected to return to the starting eleven, having missed the encounter with Man United, although Nathaniel Clyne could continue after making a first league appearance on Sunday.
Should Klopp opt for Clyne in the right-back slot, Milner will be vying for a role in midfield alongside Fabinho, Naby Keita, Jordan Henderson, Gini Wijnaldum and Adam Lallana.
Xherdan Shaqiri will also be in the mix to start after his two-goal match-winning cameo off the bench against United.
It is intriguing to see how Klopp chooses to set up his side, especially whilst considering that they are in the midst of a busy festive period.
With the attacking trio of Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Mohamed Salah likely to start, the only question remains about the system and personnel used behind them.
