Jordan Henderson has been Liverpool's captain since 2015, but according to a report from Liverpool Echo, he may be ready to jump ship. That's because Reds' great Steven Gerrard was recently hired as manager for Al-Ettifaq of the growing Saudi Pro-League and has shown an interest in signing Henderson.

While Henderson leaving Liverpool seems ludicrous at the moment, consider that he is 33 years old and he will have new signings Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai pushing for minutes. The offer of playing for a former teammate and the assurance of guaranteed playing time on the pitch could be enough to lure Henderson away from Anfield.

Henderson has not addressed the speculation during training as he reported with the rest of the club, but as the season starts and the midfield roles become more settled, this rumour is certainly one to keep an eye on.
